Meet Rosie
Oncology & Scar Therapist | Founder of The Rose Sanctuary
Hello, and welcome. I’m Rosie, and I’d like to tell you a little about me, my work, and what led me to create The Rose Sanctuary.
My journey began in 1997 in Romania, when I worked in orphanages supporting children who had experienced profound trauma and institutionalisation. It was there that I witnessed the extraordinary impact of safe, compassionate touch. That experience shaped not only my career, but my understanding of healing—a philosophy that continues to guide my work today.
“Recovery is about so much more than time. It requires expert care, thoughtful guidance and an approach that’s as individual as the person receiving it.”
Over the past 20 years I've worked alongside people recovering from cancer treatment, surgery and life-limiting illness and my practice has evolved alongside the people I've supported. I began with a foundation in aromatherapy and therapeutic massage, then expanded into specialist scar therapy and Manual Lymphatic Drainage as I recognised the unique needs of people recovering from cancer treatment and surgery. Most recently, I've incorporated photobiomodulation (red light therapy), adding another evidence-informed way to support tissue repair and healing.
The Rose Sanctuary grew from a simple belief: recovery deserves as much care and attention as treatment itself.
Throughout my career, I met so many people who had received excellent surgery and cancer treatment, but once those treatments ended, they often found themselves navigating the long-term effects of recovery on their own. Pain, scar tissue, restricted movement and changes in confidence don't simply disappear when hospital appointments come to an end. I created The Rose Sanctuary to bridge that gap—a place dedicated to supporting recovery beyond treatment. From my peaceful garden studio, I provide specialist aftercare that combines evidence-informed therapies with the time and personalised support every recovery deserves.
My Approach
Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. No single therapy provides all the answers, because every person heals differently, and every stage of recovery presents its own challenges. I take time to understand your symptoms, your medical history, your lifestyle and what matters most to you, and create a Recovery Pathway that will best support your body at that point in your healing.
Recovery is cumulative. Lasting change rarely comes from a single treatment. That's why my Recovery Pathways are delivered as a course of sessions, with each session building on the progress of the last to create meaningful, lasting improvements over time, helping you feel more comfortable, move more freely and regain confidence in your body.
Experience & Qualifications
Over the past 20 years, I've worked in hospices, NHS hospitals, cancer support charities and private practice, continually developing my knowledge to provide the highest standard of specialist care. I combine extensive clinical experience with ongoing professional training to ensure every treatment is safe, evidence-informed and tailored to the unique needs of each client.
